Monday Morn

I had a great weekend. My friend Craig visited from LA. We were constantly doing things - biking, hiking, hiking, biking... It was a good three days with him...

When I got back to the office on Monday I was informed that we have a new way to track people who sign up for Lijit. This program will really step our customer service up to the next level.

Here is my blog pick for today:

You may notice the Me.dium widget on my blog over there on the left... Turns out we here at Lijit are kinda like cousin's with Me.dium...

In any case, after you install our Lijit search wijit, take a look at me.dium...

Top blogs of the day

Sometimes it's quiet here at Lijit, the programmers are a'programm'in and us Evangelists are evangeliz'in. A big part of our job is reading blogs that would be good candidates for our Lijit search wijit.

There are so many interesting blogs out there. Ton's of good stuff. I often find myself laughing out loud in the room after reading what some people have up on their blog... In any case, these are some of my top picks of the day:

1. http://www.pagentsprogress.com/ That game is very addicting... Not that I'm playing it!

2. http://www.arbroath.blogspot.com/

3. http://www.neatorama.com/

The view from my office

Last week was my first week at www.lijit.com. The CEO Todd Vernon (aka one of the guys who hired me) was on vacation in Paris so I didn't really get a chance to say thanks.

But today he returned and we shot the shit a bit. When I got back to my desk I looked down out of my window and noticed a Porsche out in the parking lot. Then I remembered that Leslie told me that Todd drove a Porsche. So that's Todd's Porsche down there. And Leslie drives a sweet V8 Audi S4.

So my plan is to park next to them with my sweet ride. You know, so there are three performance machines sitting next to each other:

1. Porsche
2. Audi
3. SL1 , 1996 Saturn SL1 that is. (Hey they really import them from Saturn, so you know they are good.)

Yeah, I keep it real.

Release

So last night was a late one, we just published a new version of www.lijit.com online... My contribution came in the form of an arrow. Check out my sweet orange arrow on the homepage at www.lijit.com.

Oh yeah, this is Tara. Everyday I tell her that she should have that growth checked out by a doctor.

Sometimes she talks to it.

Free school in Germany, even for international students????

Ok, So i was talking to Stan today... HE said that he went to school in Germany FOR FREE. When iw as over there I didn;t know that was possible. I mean I knew that Germans got free schooling, but for an American to go to school for free? What?

That is pretty cool... Why stay in the states and go to school when you can try it overseas for free?

I wonder which other countries allow international students to go to school for free? That sounds so interesting... If you know of any, let me know alright?

Thanks,

Joe

It's liJit with a J.

So after an extra late night watching a rather lengthy "An Unreasonable Man" (great movie by the way - Ralph Nader is my hero), I made my way from Amy's pad in Boulder to my brand new job at www.lijit.com!

I had my interview here last week, Stan hooked me up. Ya see, Stan is to me what Jerry Rice was to Joe Montana - but our game isn't football, it's ultimate frisbee.

Stan, known for his end-zone attaining bursts of speed, also happens to be the founder and CTO of Lijit.com. Lijit is a search engine for bloggers. He told me about it over post-game beer with some other ultimaters.

It went kinda like this:

Stan: Joe you are an amazing ultimate frisbee player, you must drive a sweet ride and get all the girls!

Joe: Why thank you Stan. Yes, you are correct, my Saturn is tight. It is known for its fine Dupont frame and forest green paint job. And I'm glad you noticed my entourage of cheerleaders. But what you may not know is that I would make an excellent Evangelist.

Stan: Hmmm, yes I can see that in you. How much money do you want a year? Just go ahead and write your own ticket. Thanks.

And that's how I came to be part of the Lijit team...

So now I'm sitting here next to Tara, another Evangelist, writing a blog, professionally. Not to toot my own horn but beep beep! You should see the view in this office. We overlook the Flatirons of Boulder. It is quite amazing.

I guess I should probably figure out what I'm suppose to do around here now instead of goofing around on my blog.. Oh wait! That is what I am suppose to be doing. Ahhhhhh!
